Yeah, don't breathe more hardener fumes than necessary. The ammonia is the least of your worries (it's a common household cleaner, and they even use ammonia fumes to wake you up if you get a concussion!)

But there is some other stuff in the hardener fumes that you should avoid breathing much of. Follow mfg'er's instructions: work in a well-ventilated work area, or use a cannister-type mask. Some folks here do both.
