Keep it warm
Posted by CLC on Nov 19, 2005
Epoxy seems to have a near-indefinite lifespan. The hardener gets dark, but this doesn't seem to have any effect chemically and very little effect in appearance. I've used 10-year-old epoxy.
But, both the resin and the hardener can be damaged by low temperatures. Put the epoxy kit in the pantry, someplace near room temperature.
I fiberglassed a dinghy about a year ago with some epoxy that got frozen at the WoodenBoat School one winter. I'm still waiting on it to cure.
