chesapeake 17

Hello, I am new to both this forum and Kayaks, hope to learn. I am starting a C17 and want to put on the deck with out nails. Is the system three epoxy strong enough to hold the deck panels until the glass is overlapped onto the sides? I plan on drilling the edges of the deck every six inches or so along the edge and using some nylon cord to bend and hold the deck in place. thanks, Whip
