fitting the coaming

Hi all. I'm fitting the coaming spacers on my CLC double. I have put the first layer of spacers down and am dry fitting the second. The upper and lower spacer halves are identical sizes but because the upper spacer has further to curve around im finding depending how I position the spacer it will either leave a gap between the left and right spacers or if you touch the left and right together it wont line up with the lower spacer at the side of the cockpit. I think i'll make it line up at the outside of the cockpit and make a little filler peice to bridge the 1/4 to 3/8 gap between the left and right upper spacer. Just wondering if I cocked it up somewhere or if other people have had the same thing.
