Thanks Mac for the info. very helpful. Will definately check out mountain equipment co-op. REally appreciate your time to give a response. Kurt. Oh ya, im in Bishop California. Most lakes around here freeze in winter being there at 8 to 10 thousand feet elevation. However we do have th owens river which is miles long at eleveation of about 4 thousand feet.
