Thanks for your replies. I think I'll leave it alone. At any rate the difference is very nearly flat or very very nearly flat. I should be able to change the radius of the hatch cover front to back to match it.

In the future I will use more deck beams, even if the plans don't call for them. I can't see how they would do any harm and would ease construction.
