In terms of handling, nothing. Same hull and similar interior volume. The hybrid kit yields a cedar strip-planked deck rather than the standard plywood configuration.

The Shearwater 14 (actually 14'6") will hold you without difficulty, provided you've got shorter legs and small feet. Keep in mind it's a narrow boat, and while faster and "sportier" it won't be as stable as the Chesapeake models.
