Allow for cure times

Posted by Dave Houser on Oct 7, 2005

I like to sand at least the top of the sides before glassing the deck to get rid of the excess fill coat epoxy under the deck glass that laps onto the sides. Then there are a few partial fill costs on the sides to fill and feather the deck glass into the sides. I always put on a final epoxy coat after sanding just to top off any pock holes, fill 60 grit scratches and bury any touched glass. I just time it to get a good two weeks plus of cure time on the last epoxy coat before varnishing.
