Have you paddled the Pax 20 yet? By all accounts, including my own extensive experience in the boat, it has neutral tracking even in strong wind. (The cliche "tracks like a rail" is especially apt for this thin-as-a-rail boat.)

The center of gravity of the paddler is located at 55% of the Pax 20's length. The West River's is at 54% and the Chesapeake 14's at 57%. Actually fairly average among kayaks. I think the Pax 20's plumb bow and high forward deck make the bow seem longer than it really is.
