Good advice on using the rasp to remove any cured epoxy prior to planing the sheers. Actually, I start the sheer planing with a little Surform plane, using this to knock off the drips, as well as doing the ititial cutting of the glass-covered side panels. Doing this eliminates most of the nicks your carefully sharpened plane iron would otherwise get while planing the clamps.
