Karl's last sentence really summarizes it well, for my money. But here's why I wanted to master the GP: They cost about $10 per, you can easily make 'em yourself, and they look cool. (My $300 carbon fiber Euro paddle is currently back in California for repairs as I write this.)
As a newly minted GP user, here's what I'm finding: the symetrically shaped Greenland blade will never "catch" or "dig" on you the way a Euro blade can and will. The GP is also ten times easier than a Euro blade for maneuvering underwater, as in, when inverted and trying to get back upright, or just horsing around.
Euro blades have their advantages too, no doubt about it... but you asked for GP pros and cons.
