Well the thing is this - I havent built the akas yet.

I figure I can thin the layers of laminate into two instead of say [I dont know the number exactly - 5 spruce strips? - essentialy using the same amount of wood, just spreading them out and making more ribbon like than beam like.

Is that safe?

Using foam to stick to the akas sounds all cosmetic where as Im just looking for a different shape for the spruce aka to be with out any cosmetic augmentation.
