Sure It's The Hatch?

I used internal bungees on the flush hatches on my latest boat... A strip-built Outer Island. The front hatch performed well, but the rear hatch leaked. I fixed it. And then it leaked some more. I fixed it some more. But it STILL leaked. Finally, I filled the damned compartment half full of water, and guess what? My HULL was leaking!!! When I flipped the boat inverted, the hatch didn't leak a drop.

Might wanna try the experiment. It's a great way to find out what the deal is.

Beats me how I got a pinhole, btw, but it's something I've been hearing about ever since getting into boat building (the OI is my 7th). And yeah, I fixed it. No, really!
