You can fairly say the replacement cost is three time the price you paid for the kit. I would demand that the dangerous jetskier pay that amount, part for kit replacement and part punitive. Having teh sun in your eyes is no excuse - if a jetskier cant see where the machine is going then it shouldn't be moving.
Take the money, buy a new kit AND repair the smashed boat. I repaired a broken boat that was in much worse condition. To show you that it can be done, please see the pictures at the link below.
