Centering the bubble....
Posted by Tony Robb on Jul 24, 2005
Hi again
Did the final steps last night, winding, tabbing etc prior to the big filleting session this coming weekend. The builders manual and the very excellent DVD indicate using two straight sticks laid across the sheer to establish if the kayak is twisted.
I didn't have two sticks long enough or straight enough to do this, so I used my spirit level instead. Am I missing something really obvious, or is this a much easier way to to achieve the same result? It was very simple to "center the bubble" at the same points I would have laid the sticks and didn't have rely on my dodgy eyes (my girlfriend reckons I'm genetically incapable of handing pictures straight).
I won't do any filleting until I hear back from the experts.
Cheers Tony
