Greenland paddle
Posted by jamie on Jul 21, 2005
I just finished my first Greenland paddle... this one was made for my gal Emily, who is considerably more petite than me, so it's only 75 inches long with 2 7/8 inch wide blades... we have yet to test it out, but I'm looking forward to it.
I used information from the George Ellis pamphlet, Robert Morris's "Building Skin-On-Frame Boat," and Chris Cunningham's "Building the Greenland Kayak"
All this traditional woodworking has me thinking that once I've finished the stitch and glue boats, I want to try traditional skin on frame. It looks like a challenge, but the kind of challenge I'd enjoy.
