forward section. Since the two sails are exactly the same size the location is easily figured. We want to fish out of the boat, in addition to doing beach camping. If I move the main forward to a third step, and just drop the fore and it's sprit boom, that leaves room up there to stand and cast while the other of us sails the boat.

Also lets us decide before we go if we want to leave one mast on the trailer. Sometimes our winds are just plain too strong for us to safely sail the boat with even both sails reefed.

And by the way- we DID rerig using sprit booms rather than regular booms- LOVE it. Wouldn't go back.
