O H I O D E M O Friday

Posted by CLC on Jul 6, 2005

We're driving out to Cincinnati for the Ohio River-Way Paddlefest, Friday and Saturday this week.

This is more of a festival than a boatshow; the idea is to get folks out on the Ohio River to muck around in human-powered boats. Like kayaks and canoes. You can buy a raffle ticket to win a FINISHED Chesapeake 16 kayak at the event!

Friday includes a show-and-tell of wooden kayaks and canoes. Bring your wooden boat! There will be fun prizes for wooden boat owners. No charge to enter.

You can try out CLC boats from 3PM until dark on Friday. (A complete list of the boats we're bringing is below.)

On Saturday, everyone is expected to get out on the water and participate in "2000 Paddles," a 6-mile float downriver. Very low key, and loads of fun, with more than a thousand people expected to participate. We won't really be running demos of the boats on Saturday, as we'll be paddling down the river with everyone else! If you'd like to borrow one of our boats to join in the fun (no charge), see Mike or Bill at our booth.

Here's the list of boats we'll have on hand:

Chesapeake 14, 16LT, 16, 17LT, 17, 18, Pax 18 & 20, Arctic Hawk, West River 18, Mill Creek 13 & 16.5, Sassafras 12 & 16, Annapolis Wherry (sliding seat), Passagemaker Dinghy (take-apart) and Chesapeake Triple.
