For some reason the epoxy I used didn't stick to the 3/8 half oval, I used epoxy with aluminum powder,either way it's on with some shortened ring nails. I showed someone how tough the dynel rub strip was,,turned the kayak on it's end and moved it back/forth a few times on the asphalt,, ,and it was worn into the wood through the two layers in four seconds. OK,,better not do that again! Sure makes sense to build a thick wear strip in when building the kayak than retrofitting it after it's built.
