Assuming the load is legal? Why not just borrow a cheap rubber raft and tow the load. Any kids rubber raft should be able to hold 100 pounds.

If it has to be on your yak then think of your yak as a balance beam scale. You are the balance point. 100 pounds on the back = 100 pounds out front of you (with both loads at the same distance from you, not counting your legs). You can do it with less weight forward if you move it towards the bow so I'd start with 50 pounds in the forward section.

Is the 17lt able to carry 300 pounds safely? I still think I'd tow the dope - I mean freight. Or is it cigarettes from Canada?
