my limited experience is putting carbon tape on 4mm ply and breaking it. The failure characteristics of carbon are so different than plywood that the plywood would fail long before the carbon,,or everthing went with a bang. I don't think you can get as efficient a wet-out with carbon as you can with glass. For the money and utility s-glass gives a more progressive mode of failure,,like wood,,and doesn't leave razor edges in total failure like carbon.
