Use the shinto rasp, Luke

The fine side leaves a very nice surface on the foam and it gives you great control without dust flying everywhere. Lee is right about the concave surfaces being a challenge, but with a little care they can be well approximated with short, angled cuts. That's what I did when I was shaping the wooden part of the coaming and there's no reason why it wouldn't work on the foam, too.

That rasp has been the single most useful hand tools for this project so far. It's a shame it came along after the CLC video. A lot of the grinder and sander steps they show there go a lot faster/neater/quieter with that rasp.
