fibreglassing hull

Posted by John McKenzie on Jun 6, 2005

I built a Cape Charles over a decade ago from the plans in Wooden Boat Magazine. It seems to me that I coated the outside of the hull before laying the fibreglass on and then worked the glass into this wet epoxy coat and then applied additonal coats to fill the weave. Am now building the Chesapeake 17 from a kit and this method of coating the hull first is not mentioned in the manual. Comments please. Which is better?
