I always just put in the Yakima's to begin with but it's my understanding that the Keepers fit in the same holes. CLC can confirm this. I don't believe it's too much hassle to retrofit the braces, either. And you might want to check out posts from Kurt, he's built a quite nice looking rudder pretty cheaply!
