Paddle Float Recovery
Posted by Ivan Roulson on Jun 2, 2005
Hi, I'm a newbie to Kayaking. We want to build a Mill Creek 16.5 for paddling around the coast and on our local canal (UK). We are off on a course to study techniques and practice.
It seems to me that the most recommended recovery method is the paddle float recovery (well documented on a variety of websites). But... this seems to require straps on the deck, which the MC 16.5 doesn't have.
Perhaps I'm premature in asking here, when I haven't been on the course yet. Are there any other rescue methods, or is the MC16.5 unsuitable?
Thanks for some beautiful designs, Ivan Roulson.
