Oh Boy! Do I agree with you re two pack poly.
I did it on kayak one - just 'cause I wanted the experience.
Well, here's what I've experienced:
HUGE cost
HUGE headaches - even with breathing apparatus - don't forget the family in the house aren't wearing masks.
HUGE stink - imagine, epoxies all used to be like this!
HUGE difficulties with wet edge initially. Figured it out by coats 3 and 4.
HUGE dissapointment re durability - can't see any difference compared to good 1 part paint or varnish.
Crap happens to the bottom of your boat. Enjoy it. Redo it every 2 or 3 years with the easiest paint you can find. Tremclad, porch paint etc. Your surface preparation (fairing etc) is more important than the paint you use.
Pant, pant, rant, rant - too much coffee.

Oh, and this forum HAD advised me against the 2 pack.
