Re: Cross this water?

What is the old adage? If you have to ask...

Naught for nothing, and I certainly don't intend to impugn anyones character, but, without even looking at the boat design, do you feel you have the skills to do it? I know I wouldn't be comfortable with mine yet.

Looking at the boat design, it seems to me the Mill Creek is a cross between a canoe and a kayak. Sort of an open deck kayak, semi closed deck canoe kind of deal. Would you cross it in a canoe?

I will say that it looks like a good place to practice real world self rescue techniques... Closer to shore, and with a back up plan.

To re-iterate the starting thought. If you are questioning whether or not you should cross it, you probably shouldn't. As a group, all of us other wooden boat wackos would like to keep the population of our hobby up, nobody wants to see it drop by even one member... if you catch my drift.
