Something similar. We've had it in the water twice now, still wearing only its epoxy. Give it a good testing first, make any changes, then varnish and paint it.

Besides getting you in the water faster, this also keeps you from messing up the finish if you find that you need to make a change, lets you do the getting-used-to-the-new-boat scratches before the paint and varnish are there to be ruined and lets the epoxy cure an extra long time so that the weave will be less likely to print through.
