I have used pigments in fill coats to make opaque fill coats prior to painting. The inexpensive polyester pigments that you can get in tubes will make a translucent fill coat. It doesn't look anything like stained wood. It looks muddy. I would look at staining the wood more than tinting the epoxy although mixing sparkly metal dust in the varnish sounds interesting. Unless you were going for an obviously tinted color the okoume looks good as is.
