Re: paddle length
Posted by James E. on May 12, 2005
When I purchased my first yak (kind of a wide rec boat not unlike the mc 13) the expert in the shop fitted me with a 230...I bought a fancy carbon fiber and all...recently I purchased wood paddles for the mc 16.5 I am building an of course got longer ones (240) thinking it would help with the wider beam. I tried these with my little boat and loved the extra length and blade width. Even know they are heavier I feel so much more in control...easier tracking... and find that I expend less effort overall. Finding the right paddle can make a big difference.
