I'm leaning towards belly up myself, and here's why.

I have a small pickup with the xtra cab on it. It has a cap with a rectangular rack that sits about 8" above the truck cab. The rack has three horizontal cross bars spanning some 72" of the cap.

If the yak is belly up it would allow the bulging forward deck to take up most of that 8" distance. This area then could be supported with a foam block just between the cab and the deck.

Yes, I agree that the bow lines would have to be carefully secured so as not to applyto great a stress. Between the foward end of the rack tubing to the front of the yak is nearly 10 ft. That's why the foam block is so critical to this situation.

I'm a little concerned about this arrangement. If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.
