Free from CLC

So, if you are a subscriber, you know about this delightful FREE SHIPPING deal that CLC had in their e-tome. Well, I'm gonna need a paddle eventually, so what size do I need? What is the best way to get a properly sized paddle? What are the differences between synthetic and wood? To save time, this is for the MC13, and I am about 5'10". I plan on cruising, fishing, and maybe an occasional cruise on the 50M pool at work - anything but racing (if that makes any difference).
