My understanding is that the shell is very similar to kayaks, at least construction looks the same, only slightly different lines.

I believe I could make this "end pour" even without raising the shell, but I'm afraid if something so stiff at the bow could tear the sides apart when "the right" force is applied.

The idea about reinforcement sounds reasonable to me, but I'm worried whether all those drilling will weaken the sheer clamps, so they might come apart too.

Any comment from CLC?.
