Sailrig on double
Posted by Steve on Apr 24, 2005
Hello:
I am finishing a sailrig from plans for my CLC double. Any suggestions where exactly the rig should straddle the kayak? I've heard straddling the front cockpit would enable the boat to turn easier, but would that require cables and stirrups from the rudder foot controls in the rear cockpit? If the rig mounts over the rear cockpit, should it avor the front, moving toward the center of the boat? And just one more question: Any advantage in setting up two mast steps and eyebolts (other than more time in the shop),so either setup could be used? I'd appreciate any input.
