Having paddled them both a lot, I think the Arctic Hawk and West River 18 have similar initial stability. There aren't many other similarities; the Arctic Hawk descends from West Greenland seal-hunting craft meant to handle well in harrowing sea conditions, while the West River is a distant descendant of fast-but-commodious Aleutian baidarkas.
