"Beam" me up scotty...

Mornin' Guys;

Sorry, I'm not a "Trekky", but it sounded catchy.

I just purchased a Chesepeake 18 kit Saturday at the East Coast Canoe & Kayak Festival.

Everything has gone great, until this evening. I am up to installing the Forward and Aft Bulkheads. After measuring twice, and test fitting, then remeasuring, I noticed that the bulkheads increased my beam to 25 1/4" inch (vice 24 1/4"). To get the beam back to where it needs to be I can move the Aft Bulkhead forward 6" (seems like alot), or perform some severe surgery on the Aft Bulkhead (also looks like alot). Is it better to increase the beam to 25 1/4", shorten the Aft bulkhead distance to 126 3/4", or drastically altering the Aft bulkhead. Has anyone else had this problem? I don't want a Viking Furneral.

Thanks
