Yep, this subject has been beat to death many times. The mini (ring) bulkheads are there to shape the hull and deck. Once the hull shape is secure you can yank �em and use again at the deck install. Perhaps you�ll find it easier to build with the minis installed. So modify them to your heart�s content. Whatever floats your boat fastest and allows for your style of paddling.
