Actually, tack rags and epoxy can mix just fine, if you make your own tack rags. I just put a teaspoon of thinned varnish in a wad of cheesecloth, work it in and store it in a sealed jar. Works well and I love the price.

Who knows what the manufacturers of those home center tack rags put in them.
