reinforcing bow and stern
Posted by Jon Zeidler on Apr 11, 2005
I just glassed the deck of my LT17. I just realized that the tip of the bow and stern arne't glassed--I'm referring the the leading and rear edges or seams at the bow and stern. When I glassed, I basically brought the glass up to the edges and cut and sanded without glass overlap. The manual suggested that reinforcing glass was optional, so I never put one one. Will I be sorry the first time I hit a rock or anything head on? Is it too late to reinforce? How is a strip of glass applied around the tips without having a mess of folds and loose strands?
