Scarfs for Bright finish

Just getting started on my first build. Based on the diagram of how to properly align a scarf joint; not too much ovarelap, not a big gap either, a small trench line remains along the edge of the overlapping board. This little trench gets filled by epoxy as it oozes out of the joint. Question: will this line of epoxy show through on a bright finish?
