As the other guys' posts show, the beauty of stitch & glue is that almost anything is fixable. My 2 cents worth is that the little bonsai saw that CLC sells is really good for opening seams the way Duane describes. It gives you the cutting action of a power tool, but it's much more controllable and a slip won't be catastrophic. It'll also fit between the panels where they're not tabbed without any drilling being required.

If possible, try and do it before your trip, as the epoxy is just going to get harder the longer it cures. But even after a couple of weeks the bonsai saw should handle it.
