Ah ha, I get you. I was trying to think back to what I did...and found another pic that shows it. I just trimmed it to size pretty close, wet it out and didn't trim anything after. This cloth was the lighter weight stuff so sanding wasn't even a big deal. I suppose trimming though would have saved a bit. I'll keep that in mind when I start my next boat...thinking of a lighter boat for me than my ches 18.
