trim it

i would defer to the product instructions, but in my experience, most of these that have rubber gaskets (black)...you have to trim it with a scissors to a size that you can stretch over your head/neck but that is still pretty tight around your neck when it is done.

have never been cautioned about or experienced the too loose issue....or advised to try to stretch these to size. the elasticity is an important characteristic of the gasket (too get it over your head) and then to reduce down to still get a tight seal.

i would be concerned that "stretching" to fit would reduce the elastic property.
