deck fitted

progress report

The deck is finally fitted ch17. I used a better grade 5 ply 4mm khaya ply for the deck. If you are thinking of using 5 ply - my advice would be don't. It is an absolute sod to bend. It took six hours this eve to twist into shape. Straps were not sufficient.

I ended up screwing timber to the outside of the deck (into the sheers - these holes will be filled later and will sit behind the rubrail). I needed this timber to screw the deck onto. I doubt wether nails would have held up. To produce a smooth deck i needed to add screws every inch or so.

While, i'm happy with the finish - it was an absolute pain.

Any guesses about How long it should take to finish after fitting the deck?
