Hmmm, salt water is a conductor, the kayak is magnetic....Conductors moving through magnetic fields generate current.
Suppose that if the kayak was moving fast enough you could catch the current and use it to run an electric motor (metal skeg insulated from the hull or something)? The faster you go, the more current, the more current the faster you go...
Maybe use the paddles to get started and when the current gets high enough to drive the motor, sit back and let your yak go supersonic.
Isn't this thread about 10 days early?
