Holes from wires and stap

I have been told that the main reason for filling all joints before glassing is to eliminate as much air as possible.

Should I fill all the holes from wires and staples on the hull before I glass it, to eliminate as much air as possible ? Also I think the holes will be less visible if it is has a good mix of wood flour and silica. What do you think ?
