Re: wax question

I use an old Mohawk Industries can of appliance wax. It's a regular, silicone-free paste was with a very mild abrazive in it. They abrasive has two functions:
1. It slightly dulls the gloss, which reduces glare off the deck just enough to make it less distracting and shows off the wood a bit better, and
2. It leaves the hull smooth as silk. Makes fondling your boat a real joy.
Never had a problem with refinishing. I just go over the hull with paint thinner and rags prior to prep sanding.
