My vote would be for the Pram at $1500 compared to the Skerry at $2200 just because you'd be on the water quicker. I'm guessing that the Skerry takes twice as long to build but I could be wrong. Most folks spend a bit more when all is said and done. Like John said the best way to learn sailing,,or kayaking for that matter is with people that are doing it,,building by oneself is fun but the experience of building is not the experience of using the boat.
