ken and doug are right on. this is a minor issue and all you need to do is cut the side panels back a bit to match up with the bottom and rewire it. this almost always happens on the stern side even with kit construction.

the bigger thing to watch for on the rear end of the boat is twist. so once you recut your side panels and rewire it, step back behind the boat and make sure that the stern lies in the vertical plane (with you boat upside down and on level sawhorses) and is not twisted.
