I second the above comment. I started to fill a hooked keel (about 4' long and �" deep in the middle) and gave it up because of the large amount of material it was requiring. I was lucky because I could still get at both sides of the keel. Ground all the old glass off the bad section and slit the seam. Got the hull back together with no increase in weight. The bare hull of this boat was supposed to weigh 28 lbs. Adding all that fairung would have run the weight up and made it a not-so-ultralight kayak. Charlie
